Here's a quick summary: Preface The novel opens by stating that many people did not know that the human race's origins are traced back to places other than earth. The preface then describes a theory that humans were sent to earth through space in a spacecraft from millions of miles away. It then states that many scientists do not believe the theory and that Mr Richards, the main character, will prove them wrong.
